Question to you, from a cruise ship tourist, trying to make themselves sound important at the bar: “Yes well, I came here on this expensive cruise on that big cruise ship over there, to do something exciting for a change. So, how about you?”
You: “Oh me? Mmmm, not too much I suppose, I just sailed my sailboat about 5,000 miles, first from Canada to Mexico, and then all the way across the Pacific Ocean to French Polynesia, that’s all. 😬”
Haha! Yeah I would love for that conversation to evolve somewhere… I had a similar conversation in Avalon, Catalina isl, where a guy was wondering what brought me to Avalon! He was definitely impressed when I said I sailed from Canada to California! But he was American and they all think Canada is above Alaska.
