Life takes a turn…

… for the better❣️

After years of planning a sailing journey with no fixed destination—sometimes solo, sometimes with rotating crew—it now looks like that chapter is shifting in a direction I never quite expected.

I always knew deep down that sailing is best shared with another like-minded soul. The reality, though, is that those people are rare, and this kind of ocean lifestyle isn’t for everyone. It takes time, resilience, and a shared willingness to embrace uncertainty together. Two years ago, I wouldn’t have imagined reaching that point with anyone.

But today, things are different.

A good friend, Kevin—who I met while coming down the coast almost two years ago and have since had the privilege of getting to know over many months—will now be joining me as co-captain and life partner.

It’s something I never could have pictured when I first set out to turn this dream into reality, yet here we are.

Dare to dream

♥️

  1. Yayyy!!!! Best news ever! 😄 I have always believed that the joys, and yes also the challenges, of life, are far more valuable, purposeful and enjoyable, when they can be shared with a trusted, wonderful, supporting like-minded partner. And my experience has shown me that those kinds of partners are not easy to find, especially in later life.
So I am very happy for you VindVoman, and here’s wishing you & Kevin decades of love, joy and laughter together, as you continue your journey home to Sweden, enjoy every moment, Skål!!! 🥂👏🏻👏🏻
PS: I guess since you are still the Captain, this means that he gets to do some of those dirty jobs, right? But hey, being a man, I’m sure he is eager to roll up his sleeves, grab a pair of pliers, and dive into the bilge to help! 🤣
