What a treat it has been to be tied up at the dock. I’ve gone through the boat from stern to bow—decluttering, organizing, and cleaning every corner. With company on the way, it was time to pull out all the bedding and give everything a thorough inspection. No matter how hard you try, every boat develops its own distinct aroma after months at sea, so everything went through the wash again and all the beds were made up fresh.
Sitting back afterward and seeing the transformation from a cluttered cruising boat to clean surfaces and organized spaces was incredibly satisfying. With the work finally done, it seemed only fitting to reward myself with a piña colada at the restaurant just one minute from the boat.

Most of the cruisers here in the marina are French, though there are also a few Swedish, German, American, and New Zealand boats mixed in. It’s always interesting to see where everyone has come from and where they’re headed next. Most never leave here.. I definitely would like to come back here after the refit in Whangarei this fall!

Unfortunately, my family from Norway won’t be arriving quite as planned. Their trip has been delayed by 24 hours after a bird strike on their aircraft in Los Angeles. Not the start they were hoping for, but thankfully it was only a delay and they’ll be here soon enough.
